Kristin Phelan, LICSW she/her
Getting started in therapy can feel overwhelming, and finding the right fit matters. Now more than ever, it can feel incredibly lonely to be making sense of life’s stressors without support. I bring over 7 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker, and I’m here to make sure you aren’t alone in this.
My approach integrates mindfulness with psychodynamic theory to help you understand patterns in your life, navigate difficult emotions, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and will work to make sure you feel both supported and empowered.
I have extensive experience working with individuals who are recovering from trauma, experiencing challenges in their relationships, exploring their identity, struggling with self-image or major life transitions, and much more. As a neurodivergent LGBTQ+ therapist, I understand how isolating it can feel to navigate a world that isn’t always build for you. As a white provider, I am committed to providing care that is anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and attuned to the many systems that shape lived experience. You don’t exist in a vacuum, and I won’t treat you like you do.
My goal is for therapy to feel like a space where your whole self is welcomed, seen, and supported. Healing happens in community, and together we won’t just explore the things that feel painful, but also what is possible.

When I’m not doing therapy, I supervise and train others in the mental health field. When I’m not working at all I’m either hanging out with my one-eyed cat, wandering in the woods, gardening, painting, or practicing jiu jitsu.
